Vehicles are required to possess a valid registration in order to be operational on Florida roads.
Registration Faqs
You may renew your vehicle or vessel registration for a duration ranging from one to two years.
You have the possibility of renewing up to three months before the expiration date.
Vehicle or vessel registrations expire at midnight on the primary owner's birthday, unless the owner is a business entity.
The renewal date for heavy trucks weighing between 5,000 and 7,999 pounds will soon transition to a renewal period tied to the owner's birth month, unless the owner is a business entity.
Following this modification, individuals renewing their heavy truck registration expiring in December 2020 will be able to choose between extending their renewal to their birth month in 2021 or extending it for an additional year to their birth month in 2022.
Customers born between January and June can pay a prorated fee to renew their registrations in December 2020 for a duration ranging from 1 to 18 months. Similarly, those born between July and December would pay a prorated amount in December 2020 for a renewal period spanning 7 to 24 months.
